The Nicola Valley Community Arts Council (NVCAC) is seeking passionate and creative volunteer Guest Curators to help shape our vibrant exhibition schedule.
This exhibition celebrated the tattoo art of Robin Humphrey (Xéysmkn), a Nlaka’pamux and Stuwix artist whose work blends traditional techniques with modern design. Rooted in culture and story, his tattoos carry deep meaning and offer space for healing, identity, and connection. As the 2024 Merritt Tattoo Artist of the Year, Robin’s art invited visitors to reflect on the beauty and strength of living Indigenous traditions.
This special exhibition celebrated the beauty, skill, and creativity found in fiber arts. Featured artists and artisans shared work in knitting, needle felting, repurposed clothing, and more—each piece thoughtfully crafted with care and intention. Rooted in the principles of Slow Fashion, the show offered a meaningful alternative to Fast Fashion, encouraging sustainability and mindful making in both art and everyday life.
