B.C.P.hoto has been capturing life across Western Canada — and even as far as Texas — for over 15 years. While the heart of my work is Western-focused, celebrating ranch life, livestock, and the families who live it, my lens has covered just about every genre: from weddings, engagements, and newborn portraits to large-scale agricultural events like the Canadian Beef Industry Conference. Whether I’m photographing cowboys in the branding pen, children running between corrals, or in-town families marking life’s milestones, B.C.P.hoto is about telling authentic stories that people can hold onto for generations.
For me, photography is both artistic expression and preservation. I’m drawn to the fleeting beauty in everyday moments — the dust rising at a rodeo, the quiet strength of cattle in the field, or the tenderness between parents and kids. Weather, livestock, and children don’t always make it easy, but those challenges spark creativity and often lead to the most genuine captures.
The greatest joy comes when a photograph resonates with someone — when it reflects their world, their heritage, or their community in a way they hadn’t seen before. This September/October B.C.P.hoto will share a collection that reflects both the ruggedness and the tenderness of ranch life, while also nodding to the broader community I serve. My hope is that these images not only document but also celebrate the resilience, beauty, and spirit that make this region and the Western lifestyle so unique.
