Karianne Kroeker
I am Karianne Kroeker! some of you may know me, as I’ve been associated with NVCAC since 2021. I’m grateful to be back for the summer and take on different projects!
Art has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. Not only is it a method of self-expression but also a way to meaningfully connect with others. I will be graduating from the Bachelor’s of Social Work program next spring and centering on art therapy.
One of my focuses this summer is the PhotoVoice project. Through this, I will be helping start conversations regarding the toxic drug crisis and giving others the opportunity to share their lived/living experience through photography.
Throughout my post-secondary experience, I’ve gained knowledge and skills essential for this position.
I’m extremely excited to be here, the Arts Council has provided me with so many opportunities over the years and I’m happy to be involved in our community.
Janelle Gage
Hello! My name is Janelle Gage, and I am a 22 year old artist born and raised in Merritt.
I will be graduating from my Bachelor's program this coming year with a major in Visual Arts at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. I have been creating art for my whole life, and am excited to continue painting murals around Merritt - during my time at MSS, I painted many things around the school, as well as a mural for the Merritt Food Bank.
My practice mainly involves large-scale acrylic and oil paintings, some of which I hope you will be able to check out at the Art Gallery and around town soon!
This summer is the first time I will be working a job related to my degree, and it is very important to me that I will be doing this in my own hometown community alongside family and friends.

Juliana Snee
My name is Juliana, I’m a recent graduate with a bachelor’s in psychology, and I have always loved the arts.
As someone with a passion for child brain development, I am very excited to be instructing the art council’s Crafty Kids Camp this summer and hope to encourage young minds to express themselves creatively through various forms of art like music and drama as well as visual art.
To me, art is a powerful tool for holistic growth in self-expression, confidence building, and emotional development. I can’t wait to see what we create!
