PAPER QUILLING FOR ADULT BEGINNERS

Friday, July 9, 2021, 10am-12pm

Register at the Arts Centre Gallery: $30
Learn the fundamentals of this intricate art form to create stunning designs. Participants will be guided step by step to learn how to coil, glue, and shape individual quilling papers.Through combining basic shapes and experimenting with patterns and design, it won’t be long before you’re amazed at the results.  Fee includes all supplies. 


ADVENTURES IN PAPER QUILLING

PUPPET BUILDING

Participants become puppet makers and puppeteers as they each create their own puppet in a step by step process. You will learn how to assemble and create a unique puppet using your imagination and common, everyday items. Let the show begin!

TIE-DYING
Ages 7-11

Bring a white or light coloured t-shirt. You’ll twist and tie it, and dye it in a variety of colours.

We’ll supply the dyes, elastics, and fabric squares to test. Fun to do! See the different results from the way you work the fabric. When finished, the twisted and folded areas of the t-shirt reveal a cool coloured pattern.

CHALK PASTEL ART FOR CHILDREN

Messy but wonderful chalk pastels are so effective at creating eye-catching works of art. Participants will have fun while learning the fundamentals associated with creating texture, blending and shadowing and will complete a design ready for framing.

STREET ART FOR KIDS

Kids chance to brighten up a corner of our town! We’ll head downtown if the weather’s nice, with paint, brushes and ideas for street art. Kids will create a simple design that’s easy to apply. Learn basic set up and clean up for an outdoor painting project. Create Street Art for all to enjoy!

FUSED GLASS NECKLACE WORKSHOP

Love the look of fused glass and want to learn how it’s made? Design and create two dichroic jewelry pendants to keep or gift. One will be a mosaic created with pieces of dichroic glass and the other a design of your choice. The cost covers instruction, all materials and kiln firing. Participants can pick up fire kilned necklaces on the following Wednesday, September 8th.

Kids' Art Parties

Sign your kids up and their friends for a private art class or art party in the program Studio of the Nicola Valley Community Art Centre! 

The private art class is an 1 and 1/2 hours. 

Cost for 1 ½ hour program is $120 for up to 6 children (+$5-10 per student for supplies and materials depending on the art workshop).
